Storyboard Text

  • Romeo stands below Juliet's balcony, wanting to try and get a glimpse of her.
  • Where is Juliet? I hope I can get a glimpse of her tonight! Oh, where is the beautiful lady?
  • Juliet appears on the balcony and Romeo is happy to see her.
  • But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? See how she leans her cheek upon her hand. Oh, that I were a glove upon that hand That I might touch that cheek
  • Ay me!
  • She speaks. O, speak again, bright angel!
  • Romeo is excited to hear her voice and wants to hear it again. He compares her to an angel. Juliet, who still doesn't see Romeo, sits on the balcony asking about Romeo.
  • O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
  • Romeo hears Juliet speaking about him. He wants to keep spying, but doesn't know if he should let her know he is there yet.
  • She speaks of me! What shall I do? Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?
  • Juliet doesn't understand why the houses hate each other and their names. It's just a name.
  • What’s Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell as sweet.
  • Romeo finally lets Juliet know he is there. Juliet is at first scared and doesn't know who it is, but then realizes it's him and excited. She is also scared for his life.
  • I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Romeo.
  • Who speaks? Who is out there? Romeo is it you? It's not save for you to be in these walls!
