Storyboard Description

Of the many ubers offering transportation, some fail to do their job correctly. This is the slightly exaggerated story of my experience with one of those people.

Storyboard Text

  • One day, my dad sends an uber to pick me up after freshman camp, not a professional one and not saying my name until I asked for my personal safety.
  • Hey, are you the kid I am supposed to pick up?
  • U
  • The old man's senses were worn thin, and his GPS was spouting peculiar dialogue that would throw us off track.
  • Huh? Did you say something?
  • ...we're going all the way to North Charleston. You know that, right? Why is this route showing little progression?
  • Usual time...if we hadn't been driving for 7-8 minutes.
  • 30 minutes from home
  • "28 minutes left, we're making decent distance now, but I have to take two minutes to drive back onto the correct route..."
  • "Turn left." the insane GPS said. "Keep moving along the previous path." I tell the uber.
  • My phone says to turn left at this area. By the way, I have only 10% battery remaining, but we can make it home!
  • Okay then. We won't be stuck in a loop this time, and the job will finally end.
  • After two hours and then using my phone's maps for the last ten to fifteen minutes, I've finally made it back home!
  • The uber charged us for every detour he took, but my dad quickly reduced the expense back to what they originally agreed on. The drive was over, and I was happy.
