Storyboard Text

  • When there were no rivers on the Earth, the Jade dragon was in charge of when and where the clouds would rain over the land.
  • Jade Dragon was very proud of her power and her children. She had four children, Yellow, Black, Long, and Pearl.
  • One day, as Jade Dragon had just moved the clouds away from the land and stopped the rain. She had over heard one of the villagers conversations. "Ah, thank goodness the rain is gone." One said. "Yes." The other agreed.
  • Jade Dragon was so furious with them that she had decided to never make it rain again. This brought a drought and famine over the land. Animals and trees died and the people begged for rain, but the Jade Dragon ignored them.
  • The people can enjoy the sun forever.
  • Jade Dragons cruel ways did not go unnoticed by her children. They begged their mother to forgive the humans but she did not listen."We must do something for the people." Long said. "Yes, but what can we do? We can not make it rain. We would dishonor mother is disobedience." Yellow said. Black decided that he would sacrifice himself and transform into a river for the people to drink . His brothers and sisters decided to do the same.
  • When Jade Dragon saw what her children had done it broke her heart. She fell from the sky and turned into the Jade River, in hopes that she could be reunited with her children. Fruitless Mountain is the broken heart of Jade Dragon. Until Jade dragon is reunited with her children Fruitless Mountain will remain bare.
