  • America's role in the world at the end of the War of 1812 was like an employee becoming a manager because they are now in the position to be taking care of the other employees since they have already secured their position.
  • America's role in the world at the end of the Monroe Doctrine was like a puppy growling at its owner because the puppy has marked its territory but is still in the weaker position than its owner. However, the owner is just agreeing to the puppy's desire and backing off.
