Storyboard Text

  • By 1927 Nellie had joined the Famous 5, a group of women fighting for Women's Rights. The group included Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Louise Crummy and Irene Parlby.
  • The famous 5 wanted to have women be considered people under the law so, they tired to get the Supreme Court to agree to this. But, the court would not let women vote. This made the women very upset but, they came up with a great plan. They decided to hold a Mock Parliament where the women were not letting the men vote and they were using the same reasons that the men were using for not letting them vote. They did this to show the men how ridiculous they were being.
  • The Mock Parliament was a huge success!
  • This is anarchy!
  • They will only talk about politics!
  • NICE MEN DON'T WANT THE VOTE!
  • What about our families?
  • This will lead to divorce!
