  • Book 5: "Calypso, the Sweet Nymph
  • Zeus says You must free Odysseus at once, and help him get home
  • Ugh, fine. I will let him go and tell him how to get home
  • Book 5: "Calypso, the Sweet Nymph"
  • Odysseus, please do not leave! Why do you miss your bride when I am so much better? You will be immortal and happy here!
  • Do not be mad, but No. You may be a goddess and all, but I long for my home and wife.
  • Book 9: "New Coasts and Poseidon's Son"
  • I am Lartes Son, Odysseus, and this is how I survived the Lotus Eaters and Cyclopes.....
  • Wow! Tell me more Odysseus.....
  • Zeus sends Hermes to tell Calypso that she must let Odysseus go and then send him home by helping him build a raft. Calypso reluctantly agrees to let Odysseus go and help him get home.
  • Book 9: "New Coasts and Poseidon's Son"
  • Oh Poseidon, father, kill him! Kill nohbody! I will find you!
  • I, Lartes Son, whose home is on Ithaca, Beat you! You fell for my name being nobody?! I am so smart!
  • Me too! Maybe she's friendly! Let's go inside and see her!
  • Calypso tries to convince Odysseus to stay with her but Odysseus refuses. So Calypso reluctantly helps Odysseus build a raft, and he sets out to sea. He sails for 17 days to Scheria, and eventually after numerous storms, he swims safely ashore Scheria.
  • Book 10: Circe, the Grace of the Witch
  • Hmm, I can hear singing
  • Ssh! That must be here home, we must be careful
  • Hmm, i don't know about this guys, we should take caution.
  • Odysseus explains to King Alcinous, whom welcomes Odysseus with a banquet, who he is and what has happened to him. He begins to tell the king about how his travels and how he survived the Lotus Eaters and Cyclopes.
  • Book 10: Circe, the Grace of the Witch
  • Circe, I beg you, please let me and my men go.
  • Hmm, Fine! But first, you must visit the land of the dead and hear a prophecy from the ghost of Tiresias
  • Odysseus tells the king about how he and his men escaped the cyclopes by tricking him into thinking Odysseus' name was nobody. But Odysseus got a little cocky and told the Cyclopes where he lived. Cyclopes prayed to his father, Poseidon, to destroy them.
  • Odysseus and his men sail to Aeaea, home of the goddess circe whom is a witch supposedly. Eurylochus leads some of the men to Circe's house, in which she tricks them to think she means no harm and takes them into her home, but Eurylochus doesn't fall for it.
  • Circe changed Odysseus' men, except Eurylochus, into pigs. Odysseus saves them but Circe puts them into a trance and they stay for 1 year until Odysseus begs her to release them. She tells them that they must visit the land of the dead and hear a prophecy
