Storyboard Text

  • Initial Dialogue or Event...
  •
  • Who is calling me? I am way to tired to turn it off
  •
  • Propelling the Action...
  • Of course I didn’t pick up...I didn’t listen to her messages yesterday. I was too angry to even look at my phone...Cassie called thirty-three times” (Pg.12).
  • Outcome...
  • Lia 33 Messages Left
  • When Lia is in her room and her phone keeps ringing. She is to tired to answer to she throws it so it doesn't keep her awake. When she looked at the phone and realized Cassie was calling her and decided not to answer
  • Initial Dialogue or Event...
  • Ha! I win, now you have to come
  • When Cassie calls Lia from the Motel 33 times and Lia didn’t answer her phone because they had stopped being friends a long time ago and thought she was prank calling her
  • Propelling the Action...
  • Lia’s decision not to answer the phone could be one of the causes of Cassie’s death. The book is based around Lia and how she deals with Cassie’s death. If Lia were to have answered the phone one of the 33 times Cassie called her that night Lia possibly could have helped her, saving her from how ever she died and Cassie wouldn’t have be dead. Since they weren't friends Lia didn't pick up
  • Outcome...
  • When she beats Elijah at cards, she wins the deal and he has to go to Cassie’s funeral with her. She made a bet with him that if she one, he would go to Cassie's funeral with her because her psychologist told her not to go alone
  • This event propels the action of the book because when Lia made a bet with Elijah, she would have to win. If she won the card game, Elijah would have to go to Cassie’s funeral with Lia. When they played the game, Lia did end up winning and not Elijah has to to with her. Lia had to win the game for the story to continue.
  • “I did win one thing today I shot the moon in hearts and beat Elijah. I’m picking him up at ten tomorrow. Neither one of us is up to the memorial service at the funeral home. We’re going straight to the grave” (Pg. 126).
  • For the story to continue, she would have had to beat him. If she didn’t beat him she wouldn’t have gone to the funeral. Lia would not have gone with her Dad or Jennifer because they told her not to go in the first place and she wasn’t going to go with anyone from her school because she felt that it was too weird and awkward.
