  • This is a proposal for the structure of the United States government
  • The New Jersey Plan
  • This is a proposal for 3 different branches: legislative, executive and judicial.
  • The Virginia Plan
  • Legislative: law-making branch of government made up of the Senate, the House of Representatives, and agencies that support Congress.
  • Judicial: made up of the Supreme Court, Lower Courts, Special Courts, and court support organizations.
  • Executive: The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the Cabinet.
  • So we agree that slaves would be represented as 3/5 of a person when counting population.

  • There should be sovereignty. That refers to the internal affairs of the state and the location of supreme power within it.
  • That's a good idea
  • They were written to acknowledge natural rights and limits how the government may take away those rights.
  • The bill of rights guaranteed such rights as the freedoms of speech, assembly, and worship.
