  • CONFLICT: Man Vs. Man, Man vs. Himself, Man vs. Nature
  • Rising Action
  • Sanger Rainsford, a famous sport hunter, falls of a yacht en route to Rio de janeiro, and he swims to Ship-Trap Island where he is greeted by general Zarrof and Ivan, his servant. There, he learns that he has to compete in a hunt where he is the prey!
  • Climax
  • Man vs. Man: Zarrof and Rainsford fight each other for different goals: Zarrof for fun, and Rainsford to live. Man vs. Nature: Rainsford had to fight the jungle, as he had to be careful about covering his tracks, and laying his traps. Man vs. Himself: Rainsford had to fight his fears so that he can be alert and win the game.
  • Falling Action
  • Rainsford is sent to the jungle with a head start. There he creates a complicated track, in order to trick Zarrof, however, Zarrof is able to track him but spares him so that he can have more fun. Rainsford sets up a bunch of traps,one gets Zarrof in the shoulder, the other one kills one of Zarrof's dogs, the last kills Ivan, Zarrof's servant.
  • Resolution
  • Rainsford can hear Zarrof and the hounds approaching. With no way to go, having reached the end, Rainsford jumps of the edge into the water. Zarrof goes home disappointed that he had lost his prey, and starts getting ready for bed, only to be greeted by Rainsford hiding behind the curtains .
  • Zarrof offers Rainsford his congrats due to his winning, but Rainsford is having none of it, as he challenges Zarrof to a final duel to end the game, in which the loser is fed to the dogs, while the winner sleeps in Zarrof's bed.
  • After the indirect fight between Rainsford and Zarrof, Rainsford sleeps soundlessly in Zarrof's bed indicating that he had won, and Zarrof is dead as he was fed to the hounds.
