Earlier this year ( 2014), on Australia Day, I went camping with my dad, sister and some of our family friends. It was gorgeous and sunny. The perfect weather to be camping at Corrowa, on the Murray River. We were there for a total of three nights, most of which we spent on the river.
One of our family friends own a boat and the decided it to bring it, along with several kneeboards and biscuit. My sister, Jaime, our friend, Jaqui, and I were taught how to kneeboard.
Jaqui and I quickly got the hang of it but Jaime was not so fortunate. One of my favourite parts of this test was watching Jaime fall off the kneeboard again and again and again!
Biscuiting was even more fun, if that was possible. Jaime, Jaqui and I spent hours on a three person biscuit, only coming in when it was dark. Some of our wipe outs were pretty spectacular but my personal favourite would have to be our first.
We were hurtling along the Murray river at breakneck speed when without warning Jaqui slipped off. I barely had time to blink before Jaime was gone as well. I let out a small shriek of surprise as I flew back to meet the cold, icey-ness of the river.
Although it may have hurt a little at first, we certainly laughed about it a lot at the campfire that evening!
