Miss Havisham's lonely reality suppresses her, and stimulates resentment towards love and virtue as she's consumed by her darkest thoughts...
The trees closing in symbolise her isolation and feelings of detachment. The represent a wall she's erected to avoid any more pain and suffering. Ironically it is this barricade which fuels her relentless torment.
Miss Havisham harbours so much anger for being jilted at the alter, leaving her cold and cruel in character as she nurtures her own hatred, alone forever .
