Storyboard Description

In The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi, Charlotte encounters many conflicts. This storyboard highlights 3: one from the beginning of the book in England, one on the Seahawk in the middle of the book, and one at the end of the book in the United States.

Storyboard Text

  • EXTERNAL CONFLICTS
  • All of the other passengers left instead of boarding the Seahawk. Charlotte is now the only female on the ship. It is now her (wanting to not board) versus everyone else (wanting her to board).
  • INTERNAL CONFLICTS
  • I do not want to get on this ship! What do I do? I've been trained to do what is expected of me... should I rebel and refuse to board?
