Carnegie Steel Company was one of the most powerful companies in America in this time period.
Carnegie: Henry Clay Frick you are now in charge of my factory in Homestead Pennsylvania.
Henry Clay Frick started locking his workers out because they started to strike and not work well in the Factory.
When the workers started to strike outside the factory Frick had to get help from the Local militia to stop the fight. There were 8,000 militia at the battle.
Anarchist Alexander Berkman shot Frick but was unsuccessful in killing him.
In the end over 100 of the strikers were arrested. Many of them were arrested for murder.
