  • Abigail is questioned by Hale on the suspicious dancing that took place in the forest. Abigail insist that there were no witchcraft involve in the dancing.
  • "Abigail, what sort of dancing were you doing with her in the forest? (Miller 42).
  • "Why-common dancing is all" (Miller 42).
  • Reverend Parris showed curiosity on the mystery dancing from the girls and the strange soup.
  • "I think I ought to say that I that I - I saw a kettle in the grass where they were dancing. I do believe there were some movement in the soup" (Miller 42).
  • "Why, a very little frog jumped" (Miller 42).
  • "She called the Devil?" (Miller 42).
  • Hale finally let Abigail speak. Abigail insist that she did not call the devil but it was Tituba who call the devil.
  • "Did you call the Devil Last night?" (Miller 42).
  • "I never called him! Tituba, Tituba..." (Miller 42).
  • Hale questioned Abigail on the kettle the drinking of blood. Abigail insisted of denying any drinking of blood from the kettle.
  • "Abigail, Did your cousin drink any of the brew in that kettle? Did Tituba ask you to drink it? Why are you concealing?" (Miller 43).
  • "I never sold my self! I'm a good girl! I'm a proper girl!" (Miller 43).
  • "You will confess yourself or I will take you out and whip you to your death, Tituba!" (Miller 43).
  • Abigail accused Tituba for making her drink blood. Hale asks question on Tituba while Parris want to hang her. Poor Tituba point out that she do not compact with the devil.
  • "I want you to wake this child" (Miller 43).
  • "I don't compact with no Devil!" (Miller 43).
  • "She made me do it! She made Betty do it! She makes me drink blood!" (Miller 43).
  • "No, no, don't hang Tituba! I tell him I don't desire to work for him, sir. I saw Sarah Good wight he Devil!" (Miller 47).
  • Tituba confessed of witchcraft. In order to protect herself from hang, she accused Sarah Good of witchcraft.
  • "Tituba, you must have no fear to tell us who they are do you understand? We will protect you" (Miller 46).
  • "Sarah Good!" (Miller 47).
