  • Introduction
  • Cause of the Sugar act
  • We've fought a long war we need to gather money to feed everyone
  • Merchants place taxes on sugar products!
  • Effect of the Sugar act
  • This is not fair! We shouldn't be paying taxes
  • I chose the stamp act, the tea act, the currency act, sugar act I chose them because I think they played a big part on affecting the American revolution and I think they affected the American revolution because they caused a lot of havoc and also cost the British a lot of money and also because the colonies rebelled to all of these acts which changed the way of the British.
  • Cause of the Currency act
  • We shall create a new bill/note to help us trade
  • There are many causes to the sugar act but the main one is that King George just fought a 1 year war so he was in need of money so he placed some taxes on some of the products like sugar, molasses and other good that were exported to the colonies.  (10)
  • Effect of the Currency act
  • The effect was that the colonies began to protest about the sugar act as they were paying more money and buying the same amount of goods and products, so colonists began to boycott sugar and other products with a hope of the British canceling the sugar act so they can pay less money for the goods that they are buying. (11)
  • Cause of the Stamp act
  • Stamp your letter for cheap prices
  • The cause of the currency act is that there was a shortage of currency to trade with and there were no gold or silver mines so their only way to trade was currency so a bill of money but not legally official money was created to pay for public and private debts at a low-interest rate also with the bills colonists could make purchases with import. (6)(7)
  • But this should not be able to made in our colonies!
  • Boss were running out of money to trade with what do we do?
  • The effect was good and bad depending on the different points of views of currency and the different colonies it was good because the new currency bills made it easier to trade and import and export but it also put some restrictions on the colonists like restricting colonies from printing any money and also the new currency was very confusing with no actual amount and different notes with different uses.(8)(9)
  • What can we do with this bills?
  • ???
  • There were some causes of the stamp act which was that the British government needed money to support and help the British army so they created the stamp act which required colonists to pay to make papers official by paying a little bit extra for a stamp or seal when buying different paper items like letters ECT.
