He was born on the december on 1887 . His family was really poor so he attended school for only nine months because his father wanted his sons to help him in the family farm.
At the beginning of ww1 Alvin York refused to join in the us army because he thought that the war was against religion. That because he was pacifist but after he joined the us army and he became a sergeant.
He was one of the greatest civil soldiers in ww1 for the us army and he arrived in France for the division of us army .He took command and captured about 132 German soldiers, for this he was promoted to the rank of sergeant .
