Storyboard Text

  • I'm pleading the fifth
  • You are under arrest!
  • We can worship whatever god we want
  • We're coming to search your house. Please step aside!
  • For what reason? Do you happen to have a warrant?
  • The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, besides others, says that a person can't "be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself", meaning you have the right to refuse to testify under oath because your answers could later be used as evidence against you.
  • The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution gives every citizen several freedoms, and one of them is the freedom and the right to establish and exercise any religion, as long as it does not harm others. The Government has no right to treat people differently because of their religious beliefs.
  • The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures, meaning that the police cannot just come to hour house and do a search without reason. Thus, an individuals privacy is more protected.
