  • Hello, My name is Martin Luther King Jr, and I was a person who led the Civil Rights Movement from 1954-1968.
  • I was an advocate for nonviolent social change.
  • “This nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'”
  • One of the leaders of the boycott was a young pastor named Martin Luther King Jr. Later the Montgomery’s buses were integrated in 1956, and the boycott ended. It had lasted 381 days.
  • In 1963 in Birmingham Alabama, Martin Luther King Jr made his speech that changed many people's lives. About 250,000 protesters attended.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent resistance to racial prejudice in America.
