  • Why do I have to go to Elanor's house? Iwant to stay with Josie!
  • Hollis is always blaming herself for everything. Whenever a fight comes between the Old Man and Steven, Hollis blames herself. She should not because it's not her fault.
  • Hollis vs. Trusting People
  • Josie forgot about Hollis having to go to school and the mustard lady was mad at Hollis and Josie. Josie was also having a hard time not being with Beatrice.
  • Hollis vs. Nature
  • Hollis doesn't like the foster care system. she does not like going from house to house. She just wants a forever home and family.
  • Josie cannot take care of you, she is getting too old and forgetful.
  • Hollis and Josie ran away because Hollis didn't trust the Mustard Lady that she would like Elanor's house. Hollis doesn't understand that running doesn't get you anywhere.
  • When Hollis went up the mountain by herself to draw, she fell down and got hurt. After that Steven came up the mountain in the truck and it tipped over. Hollis had to get stitches.
