The man's wheelchair hits the rock. The dotted black lines represent the direction in which his body goes once he hits the rock. This happens because no outside force is stopping him, only the wheelchair, so he is still in motion.
The same man pushes the balls with the same force, but because they have different mass' the larger one goes faster and farther then the other one.
When the man jumps forward off the boat, the boat will get pushed back. The action is him jumping off and the reaction is the boat moving back.
