  • In this scene it shows Tommy telling Charlie and that they should not go to town to see what happened to the light. Tommy tells them they should not go because the light that passed by doesn't want them to leave there.
  • They don't want you to leave...
  • In this scene it shows Pete Van Horn going towards the group and later resulting in him being killed because they thought it was a monster. Pete said he was going to see what happened to the electricity and came back and they killed him on the spot because they thought it was a monster.
  • In this scene it shows all of the people that live in Maple Street arguing and blaming each other for what is happening. They are thinking that each others are monsters and they start attacking each other. Their fear and suspicion lead them to do very bad things.

  • This shows that fear can make you think things that are not true and can lead you to make bad choices. When Tommy told them that they were monsters they believed it and they started to turn on each other. They start to blame each other because of their fear.
  • The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Theme: Fear and suspicion can lead to very bad things.
  • This shows that because of their fear they thought it was something or someone dangerous. This later leads to the death of Pete Van Horn at the hands of Charlie. This later on led to everyone starting to blame Charlie and going after him like a mob. Then finally the blaming of each other.
  • This shows that because of their fear it made them turn on each other. First , they blamed Mr. Goodman then they blamed Steve and so on. They even blamed Tommy the fourteen year old kid. They also killed Pete Van Horn because they thought he was a monster.
