  • Ala al-Din is a mean son of a tailor who is lazy and never works.
  • Ala al-Din's 'uncle' locks Ala al-Din in the treasure cave because he thinks he knows the secret of the magic lamp.
  • Ala al-Din accidentally rubs the ring that the dwarf gave him and summons an ifrit to and wishes to go back home.
  • Ala al-Din rubs the magic lamp and summons another ifrit who sends gifts to the king from jewels to gold and silver that Ala al-Din had wished for in order to marry the king's daughter which he does and also wishes for a great palace.
  • dwarf steals lamp while Ala al-Din is away and teleports his wife and palace back to Africa
  • Ala al-DIn summons the ifrit of the ring and puts the dwarf to sleep and steals back the lamp and live happily ever after.
