  • The prophecy says your boy will kill his father and marry his mother!
  • You will stay here forever! I am ordered to bind your ankles together and runoff!
  • Forest...
  • I am a shepherd and I am here to retrieve you, I will bring you to the king and queen of corinth because they are unable to have a baby, they will name you Oedipus Rex!
  • Time passed and one day Oedipus was heading to Thebes when an old man hurried him along rudely.
  • Oedipus struck the man killing him and three of his guards, one happened to escape.
  • Oedipus carried on his journey to Thebes. News had broke out that King Laius had been murdered. Oedipus was destinited to find his killer. Totally unaware that he is the real culprit.
  • Waiting at the gate was a sphinx. Her riddle was no match for Oedipus. He defeated her and she killed herself.
  • Oedipus went to the God and the God told Oedipus that he killed King Laius. Oedipus went home to tell his wife Jocasta, but she had hung herself. Oedipus put the pieces together and it all made sense. The edict, he killed King Laius that day and was married to the queen, his mom, all along.
  • Oedipus was so caught up in his pride and joy, he could not bear to see the monstrosity that remain of himself. He took brooches and gouged his eye balls entirely impairing vision.
  • "No more, no more shall you look on the misery about me, the horrors of my own doing!"(253)
