  • Indiscriminate attachments (6 weeks – 6 months)
  • Specific (7 months +)
  • Babies will have a similar response to both people and objects. They prefer faces and eyes.
  • Multiple (10/11 months +)
  • Preference to see people over objects. Have aquired the ability to tell the difference between seperate people.
  • The baby will look towards people who it knows for comfort. They will show affection towards one caregiver in particular. Also, they will show stranger and separation anxiety.
  • Attachment is displayed for a number of different people, not just one care giver. Siblings, grand parents to name a few.
