  • October 1789: thousands of Parisian women rioted over the rising price of bread. With knives, axes, etc.- marched on Versailles
  • Execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
  • The Declaration of the Rights of the Man and of the Citizen of 1789, set by France's National Constituent Assembly in 1789, is a document of the French Revolution and in the history of human civil rights
  • Rise of Napoleon
  • Robespierre said terror would be “the order of the day”- designed to prevent counter-revolution ideas from gaining ground
  • Fall of Napoleon
  • He was sentenced to death by the French National Convention, King Louis XVI is executed by the guillotine. Along with his wife Marie Antoinette
  • He was a French military leader and Emperor who conquered most of Europe in the 19th century. He later crowned himself emperor. 
  • Napoleon launched a large invasion into Russia in the summer of 1812. It lasted a great wile and it went into the winter. He had just lost 300,000 men in a recent battle and lost over 10 thousand in Russia.
