The New Jersey Plan was proposed to counteract the Virginia Plan. The New Jersey plan favored small states. The New Jersey plan proposed the each sate get one vote and only one legislative body.

The Virginia plan favored large states. The plan called for each state to get a certain number of votes based on the population of the states. The plan also called for two houses in the legislative body.
The Virginia Plan
The three-fifths compromise was a compromise between the northern states and the southern states. The compromise had to deal with slaves would affect the population of the southern states. If they south had less seats than the north then slavery could be abolished. The south was taxed on its wealth and population while the north was only taxed on its population.
