Thomas Gallaudet met a def girl named Alice and tried to teach her to read but sadly failed and got frustrated.
the father by the name of mason Fitch cogswell tried to look for a school but they were too expensive so he sent Thomas to go investigate the education system.
he found that the learning methods were improper and useless.
there he met a professor who taught to deaf children.luckily the professor agreed to join him in creating a real school.
they found a community center and gathered a group of deaf to teach and help learn to read and write.
thats how deaf education pretty much started.
