From Water Drops to Crops
This storyboard does not have a description.
Hi! My name is Walchidi the water droplet. I live in the ocean with my mom and dad and all of the other water droplets.
Every day, my mom and I go to the Evaporation Station, to catch the bus and go to Condensation Nation, where we will return home as precipitation, and help plants.
As we went up into the sky, because of evaporation, we turned into a gas called water vapor.
My mom always tells me that the train is powered by the Sun or solar power.
Now we’re in Condensation Nation! My mom tells me that condensation is when we turn from a gas to a liquid state.
Once we got there, we immediately changed into water again.
Some molecules fall down as rain. Others fall down as snow, which is frozen water. Hail and sleet are solid precipitation. Since it was a warm day, we fell down as rain.
My favorite stage of the water cycle is precipitation. That is when gravity pulls us molecules down from the clouds. I think it’s really fun because I always wonder what I will fall down as.
Then we were infiltrated or were soaked into soil. We went through the ground and were sucked up through the roots of plants. We moved through the plants and were once again evaporated from the plant in a process my mom calls transpiration.
There was so much rain today, that my mom and I turned into runoff. Runoff is when water runs downhill. This created excess groundwater or runoff.
