Storyboard Text

  • The two walked away from the shore, past the wood, and along the marble path to the prince’s spacious, extravagant castle. Elegant plants and clean-cut statues were lined up from the edge of the path to the carved doors of his home. The prince knocked on the doors. The doors immediately opened, revealing a well-lit, empty chamber, with several doors placed at the sides, and a staircase leading to other rooms. The prince ran to a storage room, and returned to the entrance with a robe of expensive cloth. The girl took the cloth from his hands, and excused herself to put the robe on.
  • The prince then walked down the chamber, to a throne room, where his family sat, looking attentive.
  • Where have you been all this time?
  • Before the prince could answer, a row of women walked toward the thrones and began to sing to the royal family, who seemed to forget all about the prince’s story. The prince initially scowled crossly, but, after hearing the best of the women sing, he grudgingly granted her applause and a smile. The girl, who had just entered, saw the prince clapping and grimaced.
  • Instruments began to resonate within the room; the women stopped singing and began to drift in dance. The girl, with a resolute expression on her face, began to dance as well, and the prince realized that she outshone everyone else in the room – at least, when it came to dancing.
  • Wonderful job, my little foundling!
  • Should I tell her?
  • She can sleep in the entrance for now.
  • Yes.
  • I do not believe so.
  • Does she have any home?
  • And it was certainly so, for the prince and the girl went on many expeditions, where they bonded.
  • The girl's eyes glowed.
  • You shall remain with me always. You have permission to sleep at my door, for I will provide you with a velvet cushion. I will also have a page’s dress made for you, so that you may be able to go on outings with me on horseback.
