Storyboard Text

  • Now, Anthony, our hopes are answered. You said the enemy would not come down, but keep the hills and upper regions...
  • ACT 5 SCENE 1
  • Prepare you, generals. The enemy comes on in gallant show; their blood sign of battle is hung out, And something to be done immediately.
  • No, Caesar...
  • Brutus, Cassius and their army came to attack Anthony, Octavious and their army at the Plain of Phillipi.
  • They stand, and would have parley.
  • A messenger came to warn Anthony and Octavius, the generals, that Brutus and Cassius came prepared for battle.
  • So I hope. I was not born to die on Brutus' sword.
  • Caesar, thou canst not die by traitors'' hands, Unless thou bring'st them with thee.
  • While deciding if they should go to the parley, Anthony calls Octavius Caesar for the first time. Caesar means emperor in Latin.
  • For ever, and for ever, farewell, Brutus. If we do meet again, we'll smile indeed; If not, 'tis true this parting was well made.
  • Anthony and Octavius called for a parley and are now having one. A parley is a meeting between enemy generals before a war.
  • Brutus tells Octavius that he shouldn't die in the hands of the enemy, himself. Octavius answers him that is what he hoped because he wasn't born to die in your hands.
  • Cassius explains to Brutus that he is receiving signs that he might die in war and they  exchange goodbyes.
