Well boys, what country we oughta try 'an steal today.. I mean.. ask nicely if they'd like to come over for tea?
The U.S. had hundreds of millions invested in Cuban plantations and did not want to lose it to Spain..
So.. the U.S. had it's eyes set on claiming Cuba as U.S. territory
However, one of it's ships called the USS Maine was targeted at sea
A perfect example of yellow journalism from competing newspaper owners William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer
So, what do you think about Spain, Joseph?
