Sierra! Come in and have a drink!
I should be getting home, it's pretty late.
Sierra had finished work and was heading her colleague Mark's house for a work dinner.
Immediately upon arrival Mark offered Sierra a drink– which soon turned into many...
Your Honour, I was a social host, it wasn't my responsibility.
Sierra slurred out that she was going to drive home to which Mark just nodded.
As she was driving she dozed off and due to the rain drove off the road. Sierra broke her arm and suffered a concussion for which she sued Mark.
The trial began three weeks later and having plead her side, all that was left was hearing Mark's defence.
After a short recess, the judge ruled in favour of Sierra, ruling Mark pay her $50000 for the harm done to her. Mark wanted to appeal but his lawyer advised against it.
