The Great Compromise
New jersey: We want a unicameral legislative, also we want equal representation in congress for each state. Our states should have equal power than the goverment.
As a southern state we want our other persons to count in our populations. Why shouldn't they?! We also want our slaves to count in the house for more representation. But we don't want them slaves to be taxed.
Virginia: We would like our national government to have more power. Bicameral legislator please. Also number of representatives houses based on population.
THE COMPROMISE MADE Theres a bicameral congress, and each state represented according to population. Each state has two Senators. Also both houses have to agree for a law to pass.
NORTH V.S. SOUTH
THE 3/5 COMPROMISE
Well of cores you want your slaves counted that gives you more representation in the house! We don't want them to be counted. Also we favor counting slaves for taxation.
