Hi my name is Macy and I chose chp. 23 About the Han Dynasty. The sections I chose from this chapter are Warfare, Government, Art, Medicine, and Agriculture.
The Han had excellent warfare and army technique with their solders stoked up to 130,000 to 300,00 men witch came in handy when they reached their highest in Central Asia. The Han army had advanced irons witch improved the strength and quality of their weapons and armor. The Han Dynasty also created some custom weapons such as the crossbow and for entertainment the Kite.
Han Emperors made improvements to the Chinese government by establishing Emperor Qin Shihuangdi and softening his harsh ruling styles. Another includes The Chinese government functioning as a bureaucracy. One of China's most biggest improvements was the civil servents,or government workers.
Art in the Han Dynasty was important because they invented a key advance called paper witch was used to write calligraphy. Chinese artist made their characters with ink and paint, these characters were created by 1 or more brush strokes in a particular order. Before paper Chinese artist wrote on silk witch was fairly easy to write on and roll up into scrolls but it was very costly.
Some of Hans Great achievements in Medicine are. Acupuncture witch is a ability to stick needles in certain places to re-balance ying and yang. Another includes Moxibustion witch is the process of smashing leaves and sticks into powder and place it onto burns for healing and this could also pro-vent diseases. And finally Chinese doctors have discovered how to Judge the pulse from the wrist or the chest and learn that this is caused by contractions of the heart sending blood through the body.
Farmers in China faced a great difficulty, farmers had to grow enough food to feed their families and to fill the stocks. Farmers invented the chain pump to move water up hill for short irrigation. They had iron workers melt iron into molds to create stronger plows.
