Bernardo, Marcellus and Horatio are standing watch outside the castle.
Bernard and Marcellus tell Horatio of the ghost of the deceased King that they have been seeing.
The kings ghost then appears in front of the three men but only for a short time.
Horatio says that the apparition is the ghost trying to warn of the impending doom and misfortune coming for Denmark.
The ghost suddenly appears again, but the ghost refuses to communicate with the men.
Horatio suggests telling the Prince Hamlet that the ghost of his father has being appearing, hoping the ghost will speak to its son.
