Prince Siddhartha was born into a palace and his father was the current king.
One day an old woman told the king that his son would be a great king or a great spiritual leader.
His father wanted him to be king so kept him in the palace forever away from any suffering and sickness.
One day Sid left the palace walls and saw suffering, sickness and a dead man. This made Sid not want to go back to the palace and made him question what he knew.
Prince Sid sat under a tree and meditated for 49 days until he reached a point of enlightenment.
He became the Buddha and taught people that nothing is permanent and we can end our own suffering.
