  • Act 1 Scene 1
  • "To know our farther pleasure in this case, To old Free-town, our common judgment-place. Once more, on pain of death, all men depart."
  • Act 1 Scene 5
  • "For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."
  • "My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name."
  • The Capulets and Montagues are fighting in the streets of Verona. The prince breaks them up and warns them that they will be killed if they do not stop.
  • Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first sight. Tybalt recognizes Romeo and wants to kill him. Lord Capulet tells him to let it go and leave the party at peace. Romeo finds out Juliet is the enemy, and she discovers as well that he is a Montague.
  • Balcony Scene Romeo and Juliet profess their love for each other and decide to get married. Romeo will send a note in the morning saying when and where.
