  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • After recieving a later from an old friend the narrator arrives at the House of the Usher. When arriving he notices that the Usher is ill and the house looks horrific.
  • Climax
  • The Usher notices that his twin sister, Madeline, is dying. When she passes the Usher decides to bury her in the vault that way no one can test on her. Madeline still looked alive when she was buried and after her death the Usher's illness worsened.
  • Falling Action
  • After Madeline's death the Usher became more ill. The narrator began to hear strange noises in the house. One night the Usher came into the narrators bedroom. The narrator looked out the window to discover they was a terrible storm. So to calm down the Usher the narrator read to him.
  • Resolution
  • While the narrator was reading Usher the story, the soundst he narrator described in the story became real and was echoing throughout the house. The Usher admits hes been hearing voices in the house and was scared he buried his sister alive. Next thing that happens, Madeline is in the doorway covered in her own blood.
  • Madeline ends up falling into Roderick and dies. Roderick also dies from so much shock and fear. The narrator decides to leave the house.
  • As he is fleeing the house he turns around to look and the house is starting to fall apart. Eventually it all disappears.
