  • A- Attitude/ Tone
  • The narrator is speaking about how he waits for her to give them directions on what to do. he basically tend to the her every need without any hesitation. He wait hours on end without any complaint because then knows she is out doing good. He says and does these things because he is in so much love with her.
  • S- Shift
  • He compares himself to a "sad slave" (metaphor) so we know in a clear picture that he has a infinite amount of love for her as he sits and waits for her to come and do as she needs.
  • T- Title
  • The narrator uses the words happy, love and watch the clock for you a lot. This is a sign of happiness and no regret. Tone is of pleasure and contentment.
  • T- Theme
  • The shift is more towards the last 2 lines. before those lines where he gave us assurance that he loved her and sometimes love can change you.
  • In the beginning I thought the title meant that he who was always waiting on her and she was controlling him. But after I read the sonnet Shakespeare focused on how love can make you a fool for the other. He says how he waits for her every need basically on hand and foot to prove to us how powerful love can be.
  • The theme is love can so powerful it can control someones attitude and life.
