Transcription: The DNA unzips and a strand of mRNA is built as a copy of a gene. Then the mRNA leaves the nucleus of the cell and moves towards the ribosomes
Translation: the new RNA is used to build protein. The mRNA is used as a recipie book so the ribosomes can read it and attach amino acids to the mRNA so a protein can be made
The end result of Transcription and Translation is a protein is made
If a mistake were to happen in any of those steps, there will be a mutation
That is not good whatsoever
If there's a mistake in replicating DNA, the protein will be mutated and there will be more and more problems occuring
