  • Wiley was very excited to try this new idea. He was mostly excited for the second day, so he could interact with his peers.
  • I'm so excited for a new idea
  • Wiley finally had his day of only technology. He barely interacted with his classmates. The only time he really interacted with them was when he told them about the history of technology. He told them, “technology started with simple tools like a hammer. Later in history around the 1800s-1900s machines started to break out.” His classmates were not interested in what Wiley was talking about; they started to make fun of him and Wiley grew very upset.
  • The history of technology is so cool!
  • Not really...
  • The next day was the day everyone didn’t use technology. Wiley was mostly excited for this day. The thought of not using technology for a day didn’t come to smoothly to the other kids. They weren’t happy with the idea
  • We don't need technology to have fun!
  • I miss my phone
  • I don't like this idea!
  • At the end of the day they became very pleased with the overall experience. Everyone made friends with each other and Wiley felt proud by the end of the experience because he got all the other kids to notice the importance of not using technology.
  • This idea was so fun, we should try it again sometime!!
  • Yeah!!
  • The following day Wiley went to his principle to tell him the outcome of the two days. The principle was very happy to hear that the day without technology was a success.
  • I think these two days have really helped!
  • Wiley’s new friends thanked him for teaching them that you don’t have to be stuck on a screen to have fun. Wiley was happy to know that he has helped others think differently in a positive way.
  • Thanks so much Wiley!
  • This past week really showed me the meaning of technology.
