Hello and welcome to the wonderful Kingdom of Ghana!
I have to go to work now. I work as an artist because I am a woman. Men work as farmers, traders, or in the military.
There is the King, then his court, warrior tribes, and lastly his subjects.
Good morning, my subject.
Oh, right! Good Morning, King Ghana. Since we have a king, he is like our government, but there are local governors. Society is set up like this.
I work here, learning about history, then painting about it. I learned about centuries and that our kingdom began in the 6th century.
But sometimes I can be so caught up in trading my paintings for gold, I almost miss my evening prayer. You see, the religion of the Ghana Kingdom is Islam.
I would probably get more money if I was down at the Volta river, our biggest river. Good thing we built closely to it or our kingdom wouldn't be able to reach it easily past the many desert mountains here.
Pretty interesting kingdom, am I right?
