1) Lighting (Act 5 Scene 2)
2) Death scene longer and more profound
3) How the truth is delivered
I found the lighting to be very peaceful and happy during Act 5 Scene 2 and I completely disagree with that concept. Although, the filmakers could have been using the peaceful lighting as a contrast to the dark scene, I would change it. Using flickering lighting with a more ominous tone would set the mood and bring more passion behind one of the most important scenes of the tale opposed to a peaceful and happy setting.
I felt as though the death of Desdamona happened too quickly and too suddenly, almost as if it werent imporant at all. Thus this made me want to change it into a longer and more visual scene. I would use the camera angles to focus more on the strangling of Desdamona opposed to Othello doing set action. I would also allow the scene to take its time in order to justify the importance of the scene. I would also change the way she was murdered, I would change it so Othello stabs her opposed to strangling her to add more intensity to the story.
Although I was happy with the fact that the truth came out eventually, I was unhappy with the way it was deliverd. I would change it so Amelia was in the room the entire time Othello was murdering Desdamona, and the reason she would not speak up would be due to the fact she is afraid of getting murdered herself. Once the muder is complete , Amelia would attempt to sneak out of the room, Othello would find her and out of fear Amelia would tell Othello the truth.
