  • A provision of the Missouri compromise was the 36 30 N line.The 36 30 N line was done because slavery was not to exist the above the line.This satisfied the North because they were against slavery.

  • For the Northern states Senator James Tallmadge from New York proposed an amendment banning slavery in Louisiana territory.Adding to that,Senator Rufus King argued that Congress had the power to determine whether or not for a state to have slavery.
