The 13th Amendment
The 13th Amendment stated that, there shall be no slavery or involuntary serving.
In the words of the President of the United States, I am not your property!
The 13th Amendment said that no person is, was, or ever will be property.
YOU ARE MY PROPERTY, GET TO WORK!
All though the slaves were free, they still faced discrimination. They were segregated from the whites and looked at as different.
On December 6, 1865 the 13th amendment was passed to abolish slavery in the United States.
We are free!
