  • On this gloom day in 1066, Edward the Confessor perishes, and his brother-in-law, Harold Godwinson is named the new king on the same day.
  • *sob sob*
  • William, the Duke of Normandy, came from France and proposed that HE should be king since he was blood related to Herold.
  • You broke the oath against God saying that you would support me, so now I have support of the pope, and I shall be king!
  • RIP
  • Harold said that Edward promised the throne to him when visiting France in 1051. William won't stop at anything to get that throne!
  • I deserve that crown! I declare WAR!!
  • Uh oh.
  • Hardrada, a viking king also said he was related to Edward and should be king, but just hasn't gotten around to it. King Harold then surprised the vikings in North England killing Hardrada and his OWN brother Tostig.
  • Only 24 of 240 viking ships returned home.
  • Get outta here!
  • Harold then travelled to Southern Europe and fought a bloody battle between the English and French. This was called the battle of Hastings. Harold was struck by an arrow in the eye and died. The Normans (French) won.
  • Come on guys! Only a little more people left! We can defeat the English!
  • William was crowned king of England after winning the battle of Hastings.
  • This king needs a queen!
