3 events that happened since the magna carta was signed
1264 - de Montford's parliament Simon de Montford, Anglo-Norman, convened a 'parley' in Warwickshire on December 14th. It was in defiance of Henry III. He had the first sort of parliament with democratically elected knights and borough representatives from throughout the kingdom.
1679 - The habeas corpus act This was passed during the reign of Charles II. It served to safeguard individual liberty, preventing unlawful or arbitrary imprisonment.
1776 - Declaration of Independence Penned by Thomas Jefferson was instead an indictment of George III's numerous breaches of English common law enshrined within Magna Carta, to which colonies were equally bound.
