  • Poppy, what are you chewing on?
  • RISING ACTION
  • Please, Lina, I need my rest. You need yours too. Good night.
  • Granny, I hope you'll be better soon. I'll take the day off tomorrow. Good night.
  • CONFLICT
  • Maybe! It could be possible!
  • 'Egres'. Maybe... it's a name?
  • The expostion is when Lina finds the "Instructions" and she makes a theory that it is important. ( Pg. 93)
  • CLIMAX
  • -Snores-
  • It.....it can't be!
  • The rising action is when Granny gets sick and dies, when Lina tells Doon about the "Instructions", and when Lizzie starts to act strange and drops special items. (Chp. 12-15)
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The mayor has been stealing supplies from us! Ember needs it!
  • Wow! The mayor? Thank you for this. I will write it down. Action will be taken soon.
  • The conflict is when Doon and Lina are struggling to find what the instructions mean. (Chapters 7-8)
  • RESOLUTION
  • I'll deliver the note to Clary. We can trust her. I will be back soon, Doon.
  • She'll be back. I know she will. She is faster than the guards. I know it.
  • The climax is when Doon opens the door in the Pipeworks and finds the mayor and tons of supplies around the mayor. (Pg. 156)
  • The falling action is when Lina and Doon tell a guard about the mayor and the room full of supplies. Soon, they find wanted posters all over ember! (Pgs. 164-165)
  • The resolution is when Lina runs off to deliver a note to Clary. She must go fast so the guards will not see her. But, the guards see her! (Pgs. 208-212)
  • Bye! I trust that you will be back.
