  • Stave one- description of Scrooge
  • "External heat had little influence on Scrooge"
  • "as solitary as an oyster"
  • Scrooge was a "squeezing, wrenching, grasping,scraping, clutching,covateous old sinner!"
  • "No wind that blew was bitter than he."
  • Stave one- description of Scrooge
  • Bah-Humbug! what right have you to be merry, you're poor enough.
  • Merry Christmas Uncle!
  • Scrooge was an old horrible man, who only cared about money and his wealth. He was rude to the poor and to anyone he met. Nobody ever spoke to him. but he didn't care, he liked being lonely. espically at Christmas- he didn't throw it one degree.
  • Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses? The treadmill and Poor law are in full vigour, then?
  • Scrooge worked at 'Scrooge and Marley's' Even though Marley had died many years ago Scrooge had never bothered to cross his name out on the sign.
  • You will be haunted...
  • Scrooge hated Christmas and hated anyone that celebrated it.
  • Stave 2
  • Two men came to ask Scrooge if he could donate money to the poor, he said no as he thought that the poor were stupid and that it was there fault for being poor. He said : 'I can't afford to make idle people merry'
  • When Scrooge got home he was surprised when he saw the face of Jacob Marley on the door handle. Jacob was dressed in chains. He told scrooge that a spirit was going to visit him at 1 o'clock am for 3 nights so that he would learn to enjoy Christmas and change his actions.
  • That night Scrooge was met by the first ghost- the ghost of Christmas past- he held a branch of green holy in its hand. He took Scrooge back to his past.
