Sparta was located in the Southern part of the Peloponnesus in Greece.
In time each town joined with nearby villages. They also had farms to form a polis. Plus they also had a lot of physical activities.
As time passed people in each city-sate developed their own kind of governing. They had 2 kings 30 member senate 5 ephors.
The males had to leave there family's at age 7 to go to training camps until they were 18.They served until they were 30 years old.
The women had to learn gymnastics so they could show the they were strong. The women also had to do the financials and raise strong children and clean the house.
They were discourage from trading with outsiders because the kings did not want new ideas. They were rarely allowed to travel outside of Sparta.
